May’s meeting

This saw Bro Jon Harper become a Master Mason. Jon had contacted us via our web site and Steve and I knew as soon as we met him and his partner Kim that he was perfectly attuned to masonic values. With Jon’s father, Jim, now in the lodge we now have two families with more than one member. Forthcoming Events The next Watercress Club (for all masons plus their partners, friends and relations plus lodge widows) meeting is on Wednesday 8th June at the Bordon Centre and will consist of a cheese and wine event – the boat trip having been put back until September.

Our Annual Lodge BBQ is on Sat. 17th June, commencing at 6.30pm, which is for family and friends and is a great fun evening. Donald Henderson has arranged for a friend of his to attend – who is a Children’s Entertainer (he is giving his services for free) and I understand that he is a wiz with balloons. Peter James has sent out a Flyer plus booking form advising a cost of £10 a head with acoompanied children under 12 free. Please book in with me sooner than later - and no later than Monday 12th June as Murry has to order the meat.

Our Skittles Evening has been booked for Sat. 14th October and a Flyer will be circulated in September – if not before. It is a lovely evening at the Jolly Farmer PH in Blacknest that I will miss again this year due to being in New York.

Next 3 meetings

Our June Meeting is Bro Ben Mulleady’s 2nd degree. We will be welcoming a senior brother (a former Assistant Provincial Grand Master) from New Hampshire, (USA), to our June meeting. September is, of course, a Past Masters Meeting when we will be Passing Bro Jim Harper and October is our Installation Meeting when Steve will be going into the chair for the second time. We have a new candidate to interview plus one more possibility so it looks good for our centenary year 2018 when they will be initiated - BUT we still need more suitable candidates – please give this serious thought. If you know a mason who might be interested in joining us please please gently prod them.

Very best wishes
