WOOLMER FOREST LODGE No. 3872 NEWSLETTER–March 2017

March Meeting

This meeting saw Bro Justin Ford being raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason in an excellent ceremony before 20 guests which included a moving presentation by W Bo Murry Port of the Walking charge. The raffle raised £240 which is the most for some time and it is good that we are raising more money in our Alms giving – but please think in terms of a pint of beer (i.e. at least £3).

Forthcoming Events

The next Watercress Club (for retired masons plus their wives and widows) meeting is on Wednesday 12thApril and will have an Easter theme plus a very sociable Bingo session.  Commences at 10.30am.
Our WM Will & Carol-Ann’s  Ladies Night is on Saturday 6th May.A Flyer and Booking Form have been circulated and we look forward to a wonderful and hopefully well supported evening. Please do not leave booking until the last minute as Will needs to know how many ladies presents to obtain.  I hope that you have already primed your family and friends.
Headley Lodge have arranged a Quiz Night on Friday 21st April and I am looking for our members to make up at least one team – it does’t matter if (like me) you are not good at recalling facts. It will be a fun evening.
Our Skittles Evening has been booked on Sat. 14th October and a Flyer will be circulated later.

Next 3 meetings

April will be a White Table where we will have a brief meeting including a talk about the Royal Arch Chapter by W Bro Peter James and wives/partners/girl friends are invited to join us for the buffet meal when local charities will be presented with cheques. We should be downstairs by approx. 6.56pm at the latest. Please note April 26th in your diaries and (where applicable) plan baby sitters.

Our May neeting will be Bro Jon Harper’s 3rd degree and our June meeting will be Bro Ben Mulleady’s 2nd degree.
There is a strong possibility of another candidate so it looks good for 2017 BUT we still need more suitable candidates – please give this serious thought. Our target of 50 members by our 100th anniversary in Oct. 2018 is looking a real challenge.  We have a new joining member but more are needed.

Very best wishes

David
